Kay Brown (b. Eugene, Oregon) is an academically trained printmaker, graphic designer and community activist. She is currently Treasurer of the Los Angeles Printmaking Society, and an active member of the Los de Abajo Printmaking Collective, Arroyo Seco Arts Collective, Consejo Grafico¸ (a national coalition of Latino Printmaking workshops), and the Venice Arts Council. Her visually engaging work focuses on experimentation using a variety of printmaking techniques. Her work has been exhibited in the U.S. and Mexico. She is also a tireless volunteer with the Center for the Study of Political Graphics, Institute for Non Violence in Los Angeles, California Lawyers for the Arts Dispute Resolution team, and the National Lawyers Guild.
Presently she is a lead teaching artist for SPARC/LAUSD programs introducing traditional and non-tradi- tional printmaking techniques to K-8 students. She maintains an open studio and accepts private students by appointment.
