This mural was commissioned by the Denver International Airport Public Art program. Situated in the Denver International Airport's central terminal, "The Memory of Our Land" explores Chicano/Mexicano history of the Southwest, in particular the passage through El Paso, Texas, the "Ellis Island" of the Southwest. This piece centers the artist's grandparents in the 1919-1923 Mexican migration through this passage, heading north to Colorado.
