About the Artist:

Tanya Melendez is a Boricua born and raised in Highland Park, Los Angeles.

Melendez has a background in dance and fine art. She founded her jewelry line in 2005 called NenaSoulFly. Ms Melendez incorporates her cultural background, experience in art and dance to create one of a kind pieces. She uses a fusion of vibrant traditional textiles and bold prints from West Africa and Central and South America. Ms. Melendez enhances these fabrics with modern jewelry pieces such as the iconic Bamboo Doorknocker Hoop Earrings creating signature NenaSoulFly adornments.
