Woodstock

Janis Joplin and Jimi Hendrix headlined for thousands gathered at the 1969 Woodstock Music and Art Fair, a three-day counterculture festival that embodied the connection between arts, activism, and social justice. Hendrix's solo performance of the Star-Spangled Banner electrified the audience as an expression and validation of their revolutionary spirit and ideals. The stunning performance changed how we hear our national anthem. Live recordings of the performances continue to resonate and inspire today.

This segment brings the decade to a crescendo with the image of a dove symbolizing peace and hope for the future.

Proceeds support the Great Wall of Los Angeles expansion and SPARC.
